Well as they say in Texas . . . this isn't our first rodeo!
Many years ago we decided to leave our careers (both in Human Resources) and purchased a c.1829 village colonial at the base of Okemo Mountain Resort in Ludlow, Vermont. After a year of renovation, we opened the Andrie Rose Inn in the Fall and our Inn was immediately filled with guests. The Inn had 10 guestrooms, all with en-suite baths featuring oversized whirlpool tubs and showers and a 4 suite guest house, with fireplace family and luxury suites. Soon after opening, we were named The Best Inn at Okemo bythe Resort, which we considered quite an accomplishment considering the number of long established Inns in Ludlow at the time. We offered multi-course breakfasts and dinner to our guests as well as to the public. More than thirty years later, the Inn is still in operation, although it has gone through several changes and owners during this time.
In addition to being the general contractors of this project, we were also interim innkeepers for The Parmenter House, a 4 guestroom Bed and Breakfast in Mt. Holly, Vermont. During the year we were interim innkeepers, The Parmenter House had the best occupancy and revenue in it's history.
Missing the hospitality business, we recently decided to return - this time selecting an 1810 colonial in the village of Camden, Maine. We purchased a bank owned building which previously had been an Inn, and after almost twelve months of extensive renovation, we re-opened the re-branded, new and improved Captain Swift Inn. The Inn was the most recent fully renovated lodging property in Camden, featuring 9 guestrooms with 3 opulent suites, all with newly tiled baths, featuring spa showers with in-wall massage body sprays; over-sized whirlpool tubs; gas operated fireplaces and king size beds. A Select Registry property and the only 4 Diamond AAA property of it's size in Camden; we were soon ranked the #1 Inn out of 19 in Camden by TripAdvisor and were honored to be selected as the 9th best Inn of the top 25 hospitality properties in our class world wide. We recently sold the Inn, but have decided that the hospitality business is still where we'd like to spend some time. We are providing interim innkeeper services and consulting to Bed and Breakfast Inns in the Northeast. Prior to, and in between, owning and managing our Inns we were both in the Human Resources profession, where recruiting talent; managing high performance teams; providing communication coaching; resolving issues and helping to create an energized work-place were part of our daily routines. These skills, along with our experiences creating and managing three highly successful Inns, distinguish us from other inn-sitters. We're more than "just good with people or love to entertain", we have done the job and know what it takes. We have a lot of innkeeping experience and are willing to share that knowledge with you. Don't need an inn-sitter right now? Try our Bed and Breakfast and Inn Consulting.
We look forward to working with you, providing top-notch service experiences to your guests.
